Impaneling

Text Size

Interested in becoming Impaneled?

The Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) is required by contract with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to ensure that our panel of providers meet the criteria necessary to provide behavioral health services which meet appropriate Medicaid and Medicare standards. The Managed Care Operations unit is responsible for the development of this panel of providers. All providers interested in providing services within the Detroit Wayne system must complete the impaneling process.

For questions regarding new provider inquiries, please contact:
pihpprovidernetwork@dwihn.org or call (313) 344-9099 (ask for Provider Network Management)

What is Impaneling?

Impaneling is the process the DWIHN uses to determine if behavioral health providers meet criteria to provide services to persons with Severe Mental Illness, Serious Emotional Disturbance, Intellectual/Developmental Disability and/or Substance Use Disorder.

What is the Impaneling Process?

  • The behavioral health provider will first contact Provider Network Management at (313) 344-9099.  A basic inquiry is conducted to determine eligibility.  If deemed eligible the requester will receive an application.
  • A review of application and appropriate supporting documentation is completed. Approval of the impaneling application will allow the provider to become a member of the DWMHA Provider Panel.

Impaneling does not guarantee a contract with the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN), however, it is the first step in the process.
