Community Care Clinic Expands Behavioral Healthcare in Westside Neighborhood

DETROIT, MI – February 13, 2025 – The Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) is expanding access to behavioral health care with the opening of the second of its innovative Community Care Clinics on Detroit’s westside at 15400 W. McNichols Road on Friday, February 14th at 8am.

“DWIHN is working quickly to meet the tremendous need in the community,” said James White, DWIHN President and CEO. “This location will provide greater access to integrated health services and offer resources for adults and children struggling with mental illness or substance use disorder.”

Providing comprehensive outpatient care to adults and children including screening, assessments and monitoring for any and all persons needing care.

The DWIHN’s Community Care Clinic is located in northwest Detroit surrounded by residential homes, schools, faith-based institutions, hospitals and major bus lines. The clinic will also be working with paratransit companies to offer additional transportation for members who require assistance.

“One advantage to offering this kind of care to residents in our neighborhoods is that there is an enhanced emphasis on supporting Veterans who can come into the clinic and get connected with resources for themselves and their families,” said White.

Adults can expect to receive an assessment, diagnosis, monitoring, treatment for co-occurring disorders and targeted case management services. For children, ages 6-21 years old this includes child outpatient psychiatric evaluation and treatment, outpatient therapeutic treatment, and child and family person-centered treatment planning.

This is DWIHN’s second Community Care Clinic that has opened in the last four months, with the other operating on the 3rd Floor of the 707 Crisis Care Center at 707 Milwaukee. We are committed to increasing the quality of services and increasing access to behavioral healthcare throughout our communities.
