Maria Avila,

A well-respected member of the Hispanic community and has worked toward bringing awareness to several pivotal issues including  educating her community and the public on how to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS.

She serves as a bilingual English-Spanish advocate with over 10 years of experience in providing prevention and education on topics such as HIV and community violence. She has served as a Community Outreach Liaison in both the public and private sectors.

She has worked with the Mexican Consulate and has 16 years of legal experience providing interpreter services for the judicial system. Ms. Avila is a resident of the City of Detroit.
