The senseless tragedy at Oxford High School the afternoon of November 30, 2021 has impacted us all in some way. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been directly impacted by this incident. It brings home the importance of working together, in support of our children and each other. Please reach out to the young people in your families who may be impacted by this tragic ordeal and make sure they have the necessary supports around them.

Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network’s (DWIHN) team is prepared to offer grief counselors to students, families, teachers and first responders who have been affected by this incident. Trained staff are skilled at helping to identify individuals who have experienced loss, stress, anger, isolation, hopelessness, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders and need to talk about their feelings. The call center’s primary focus is to instill hope while focusing on identifying strengths and resiliency in individuals who are often overlooked and underrepresented. 

DWIHN’s Reach Us Detroit Virtual Therapy Collaborative is available to teens and adults in need of support. Individuals are able to receive up to 12 therapy sessions via phone, tablet or computer. These sessions are with professional counselors to provide screenings, brief interventions and treatment. Counselors are available throughout the day to provide screening, brief interventions and treatment to families using a HIPAA compliant virtual platform. Persons needing ongoing treatment and services will be connected to a provider within the system of care. Services will be delivered without regard of their to ability to pay.
