Michael

Michael Doughty is a 60-year-old with a rocking rhythm in his heart. He grew up in Westland and loves heavy metal. He has been playing guitar since he was 16 years old, and music keeps him moving and grooving. His favorite band was Slayer, and even today, he riffs their wicked tunes on his own Black Jackson Electric Star guitar. No amp, he plays the strings to keep things quiet, out of respect for his neighbors, of course.

Michael was a 2023 Dreams Come True Mini-Grant winner and plans to pursue guitar lessons to learn music therapy to support himself and serve his peers. He’s in a groove to give back! He belongs to the All Love Home in Inkster where he is friendly and social with other residents, when he isn’t on his PC or Sony PlayStation 3 playing Tomb Raider – one of his favorite games.

When it’s dinner time, he prefers Mexican. Burritos fuel his adventurous and musical vibes. We salute Michael as a person-served willing to serve others with his talent and creativity.
