We are proud to share that DWIHN had an incredible evening at the Leaders Advancing and Helping Communities (LAHC) annual gala, A Night of Light: Love. Peace. Unity, where our organization and team members were honored with multiple prestigious awards.
Excellence and Great Achievements Award
DWIHN Executive Director James White was also honored with the Excellence and Great Achievements Award, recognizing his unwavering commitment to expanding access to behavioral health services for all — regardless of background, language, or zip code.
The evening was emceed by Glenda Lewis and Simon Shaykhet from WXYZ-TV and featured remarks from distinguished guests including Senator Sylvia Santana and Representative Alabas Farhat. The evening also featured a stunning performance by the Detroit Youth Choir.
In addition, LAHC announced $60,000 in scholarships to support students pursuing careers in healthcare — a testament to the organization's enduring investment in the next generation of health professionals.
