IDD services are available to eligible Wayne County Medicaid members with an intellectual or developmental disability.

DWIHN offers a wide range of supports and services to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live with dignity, independence, and inclusion. Services are person-centered and designed to promote growth, community participation, and overall well-being.
Examples of Services Include
DWIHN coordinates a comprehensive array of supports designed to help individuals with IDD live, work, and participate in their communities as fully as possible.
Adult Day Programs, Adult Foster Care, and Respite Services provide safe, supportive environments and opportunities for engagement.
Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy, as well as Skill-Building Assistance, help individuals reach their highest level of independence.
Community Living Supports, Chore Services, Assistive Technology, and Housing Assistance promote safety and independence at home and in the community.
Crisis Interventions, Family Support & Training, and Respite Services assist both individuals and their caregivers during challenging times.
Prevocational Services and Supported/Integrated Employment prepare individuals for meaningful work and community involvement.
Supports Coordination, Targeted Case Management, and Treatment Planning ensure access to the right services and resources.
Members have the right to direct their own services and supports through an Individual Plan of Service (IPOS), giving them choice, autonomy, and control.
DWIHN partners with individuals and families every step of the way to ensure services foster inclusion, independence, and self-worth.
Getting Started
Call DWIHN Access at 1-800-241-4949 (TTY 711). A specialist will conduct an intake screening and connect you with the appropriate supports. You may also be referred through your support coordinator, physician, or school.
IDD services are available to Wayne County residents with an intellectual disability, developmental disability, autism spectrum disorder (adults), or traumatic brain injury who are enrolled in Medicaid.
