School-Based Health Quality Initiative

Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) proudly presents the School Based Health Quality Initiative. The School Based Health Quality Initiative is committed to providing a spectrum of school based mental health and preventative services with a special emphasis on integrated health. Our mission is to foster holistic well-being for every student through school-based support.

Evidence-Based Program

School Success Initiative (SSI)

The School Success Initiative (SSI) is an evidence and prevention-based mental health program provided to students K-12 in Wayne County. The program aims to ensure that students and families have access to services in school, are provided psychoeducation training, and are being helped with reducing the stigma related to receiving behavioral health supports and services.

The SSI program addresses the behavioral health needs of students by providing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 services based on the Strengths and Difficulties (SDQ) questionnaire.

Afterschool & Summer Programming

School Enrichment Program (SEP)

GOAL Line Detroit

The GOAL Line program restarted FY 2023 to provide behavioral health and social emotional supports through enrichment programming at 11 schools surrounding the Northwest Activities Center during the school year and summer months.

Community Education Commission (CEC) is the provider promoting the GOAL Line program to meet the behavioral health, social emotional learning, and integrated health needs of students enrolled in grades K-8.
