DETROIT, MI – May 1, 2026 — Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) proudly announces that its Chief Executive Officer and President, James White, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of CIT International, effective early 2026.

CIT International is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to advancing community collaboration and improving crisis response systems for individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization promotes best practices in crisis intervention training, cross-system partnerships, and public safety collaboration throughout the United States and internationally.

Mr. White’s appointment reflects his longstanding commitment to strengthening the intersection of behavioral health, public safety, crisis response, and community engagement. As CEO and President of DWIHN, he has championed innovative approaches to integrated behavioral healthcare, community-based crisis intervention, diversion initiatives, and partnerships between mental health providers and law enforcement agencies.

“Serving on the Board of CIT International is both an honor and an opportunity to continue advancing compassionate, person-centered crisis response systems nationwide,” said White. “The work being done through collaboration between behavioral health organizations, first responders, hospitals, and community partners is essential to improving outcomes for individuals and families in crisis.”

Under White’s leadership, DWIHN has expanded strategic initiatives focused on behavioral health access, crisis stabilization, law enforcement co-response partnerships, mobile crisis services, and coordinated systems of care across Wayne County.

DWIHN serves more than 123,000 individuals annually across Wayne County through a comprehensive network of behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disability, and substance use disorder services. The organization continues to focus on innovation, equity, community partnership, and whole-person care.
